Žaneth-Ąr · modeled history of the south · Year 20,319 is Day Zero
Ages of Žaneth-Ąr
Twenty-two thousand years of magic, people and metal. The line from the Soul Weavers' great age, through the Interruption and the long fall, to the scattered peoples who became Tenryu and Æthelgard. Only the dates, the Day Zero populations and the mines you have ruled on are canon. Everything else is a model to argue with.

The rise and fall of magic
Two questions, two charts. First: how far can magic reach? Each step is a kind of thing magic can do, matched to the game's spell levels. Second: how many people can work any magic at all? The Soul Weavers were born knowing. Almost everyone after them has to learn.

From scattered peoples to two crowns
Population of the south, by who holds it. The west (Tenryu's side) is above the line and the east (Æthelgard's side) below. After the Sundering the line is the Titan's Tear, and the two halves have separate histories until the Shattered Swords.
Metal out of the ground
Each realm's yearly output in tonnes, one chart per metal because iron is counted in thousands of tonnes and gold in hundreds of kilograms. The Soul Weavers traded without money and kept no count, so before the Interruption there is nothing to show. A poor world: these are small numbers.

Canon and rulings
Day Zero populations: Tenryu 10,367,610 and Æthelgard 11,938,460.
Every dated event on the timeline.
Soul Weaver magic is torn away at the Interruption, and what remains in their works disperses until the last crossing fails, about Year 11,500.
The Star Weavers are unknown to the south until the Shattered Swords.
The mines that exist: Tenryu's great silver mine and gold island (not yet placed), Æthelgard's silver at North Watch (both sites), Deep-Well's iron, Iron-Delve, the Grey Stone Clans' metals, and Sendai-Iron's magnetite.
A poor world.
Modeled, to argue with
Population between the anchors, including a Soul Weaver peak of about 14 million and the low point of the Unwritten Centuries.
When the four powers form, and how fast the Dragon Line and Æthelgard absorb everyone else.
Where each kind of magic sits on the scale, and when it moves up a step. How many people can work magic in each age.
Every tonne. Mine opening dates, sizes, and the eleven dips at North Watch each time it changes hands.
Two assumptions: Tenryu has copper workings somewhere, because the mon is copper. And Gold-Run is named for gold that played out.
The Twin Temples' gold vein is never mined, and doesn't appear here.
